Emily
Owner and Tutor (online)
Secondary: Maths, English, English Language & EAL
Emily has 17 years teaching experience in a variety of roles and subjects. After the birth of her second child she started The Roundhay Tutoring Company in order to be able to continue teaching whilst catering to the demands of being a mum.Emily’s specialism is teaching higher maths GCSE but she is also passionate about English as a foreign language to new-to-the-country refugee/asylum seeker teenagers. She has a keen interest in understanding the impact of trauma on young people and often takes on pro-bono work in this area.

Hi I’m Jan. I have worked in education for 45years. My experience covers all ages from 3years to 18. My specialism is English as a Second Language, supporting children of all abilities through their school journey. My experience includes 10years teaching overseas in Khartoum and Istanbul.

With 20 years of experience, George is an expert in raising attainment, exam techniques and building student confidence through reflective learning.

Kathryn
Online Primary
Hi, I’m Kathryn! I have been a primary school teacher for 16 years. I have taught across Key Stage 1 and 2 and led Maths across the whole school for several years. I have experience of teaching and assessing phonics and preparing children for the Year 6 SATs.
Janine

Hi, I’m Janine! I have 18 years of primary classroom teaching experience and have also carried out 1:1 tuition for 8 years. I teach pupils from Reception to Year 6 and have a thorough knowledge of the primary curriculum and SATs requirements.

At The Roundhay Tutoring Company, we have an nine year history of helping students develop confidence and skills. Not only do students improve in grades but they discover a love of learning and see that hard work pays off.
Emily has been tutoring my daughter for just over a year and she has given her the confidence which she lacked in maths. She always came away from Emily lessons happy and feeling empowered and went from dreading Maths to enjoying it.
